Music taste...

Check out Dave's New CD's Demos!!!
Amazing. I'm so excited about Dave's new CD....especially the American Baby Intro. It's very jammy....but with a new twist. I like the new sound. I can honestly say that I've been consistently listening to Dave Matthews and his great band for probably 6 years. The only other band that I have been listening to consistently for that long is DC Talk (which is longer than 6 years). A few other artists that I really enjoy listening to these days are:

Jeremy Camp
Shane and Shane
Toby Mac (his new CD - Diverse City)
Jump (Little Children)
Coldplay
Keane
Usher (secretly, and only a few tracks)

I listen to a little bit of everything as to not get bored with one or two bands, but I could listen to those guys a lot and not mind. Let me know what ya'll are listening to!

Psalms 19

Last post of the day off...

I was reading my Bible this afternoon. I have the Message ReMix which I enjoy reading. It's very fresh. I'm sure all of you who have been reading the Bible since you were able to read can concur that seeing it all in 'contemporary language' makes you pay attention more instead of skimming or saying "I've read this before." I ususally cap off my Bible-reading with a chapter from Psalms or Proverbs. Today I picked Psalms 19. Verses 7-8 say:

"The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes."

May you just be encouraged that God is on your side. He has your life-map, it is right, and your journey ends in JOY! Follow God's directions, when he reveals them, they are plain and beautiful! Thanks for reading...

Skype anyone?

Has anyone ever heard of skype? It's an internet phone...clearer than day. It's free and allows you to talk to anyone who has a computer, the internet, a microphone, a speaker and SKYPE! If you have any comments or questions just ask. My skypename is rachelewood. Here's the download site:

Back in action...ready for the masses

I admittted in the previous post that I knew I'd have a hard time keeping up with this blogging thing. I hope I didn't lose any few fans that I had obtained by being an initial blog-slacker. I do make time like every other day to read the classics (a.k.a. Michelle and Bird); I feel like this is a must if I'm to keep up with the world as we know it. Brainwaves are flowing:

It's my day off. A day off for me is the equivalent of a bird not flying for a whole day? Do they ever even do that? Seriously. I've never seen a bird just walk around all day...unless NYC counts when those pigeons just walk around in the park and then maybe hover three feet in the air, and then walk around. Yeah, that'd be the only example. I actually am off of work, off of tutoring, off of school (for today only), and off of any responsibilities. It's rather strange.

Here are the top ten things I'd like to do but probably won't do on my day off simply because "It's my day off; I don't wanna."

1. Get a massage
2. Go to a concert
3. Do something outside - like ride my longboard, play softball, volleyball, soccer, go to the pool, etc - alas, it's only in the 60s
4. Go downtown shopping in Richmond
5. Take my little brothers bowling
6. Lay out to catch some rays (once again...it's in the 60s)
7. Get ahead on my summer courses
8. Get out of bed (JUST KIDDING)
9. Go to the gym (come on, I did that yesterday)
10. Read more BLOGS

There ya go. Add your own day off wanna-dos for the reading pleasure of others...
